Vibration Isolation Systems

Modern optical systems are so sensitive and their testing so rigorous that these systems require complete isolation from movement. XL has worked with large and small optical test environments, with isolation systems that are outside the chamber to isolation systems that separate the optical bench inside the chamber from the chamber.

Pneumatic Isolators are external to chamber and will attenuate disturbances greater than 1.5 Hz vertical and 1.0 Hz horizontal. Servo-controlled valves for automatic leveling w/ accuracy of +/- 0.005". Orifice damping for fast payload settling.

A mechanical / pneumatic system attenuates disturbances of 5 hertz and greater at the platen. Consisting of welded metal bellows supports, located just below the platen inside the chamber, each is individually inflated with nitrogen gas to support the weight of the platen and the payload.

Pulse tube style refrigerator cold head is inherently low in vibration with vibration levels 10 times lower than traditional Gifford-McMahon style (~10 microns at cold head end).
