Shrouds

  • Nitrogen & Helium shrouds designed, fabricated and installed to meet any chamber and any requirement
  • Large (including very large), small, and custom shapes are possible
  • Liquid Nitrogen, Gaseous Nitrogen, or a switchable combination are common
  • Nitrogen outer and Helium inner shroud combinations meet the coldest temperature performance requirements
  • Repair or update an old shroud with new sections or new thermal zones (and thermal conditioning units - TCU's)
  • Remove old shrouds and supporting infrastructure
  • Add supports, mezzanines, through-holes, chamber ports, and piping
  • Thermocouples (TC's) measure thermal performance on Nitrogen shrouds and connect to the system controls
  • Diodes are used to measure thermal performance on Helium shrouds down to 4 K
  • Chamber doors for payload access & man doors for personnel access
  • MLI for radiant energy insulation
