Control Systems & Human Machine Interface (HMI)

XL Technology Systems designs and builds a wide range of SCADA system platforms and user friendly screens easily navigated with a simple mouse click !

These distributed control systems combine the latest in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and automation control software. Vacuum equipment, thermal equipment, valves and safety interlocks are controlled from the Chamber Control PLC, and linked to a centralized PC running the supervisory control and data acquisition program. The supervisory system can be centralized, or networked.

XL designed control systems typically operate in one of three modes:

  • Automated - auto pump down and auto regeneration
  • Manual - Open and close valves and operate all pumps
  • Maintenance - password protected maintenance mode accessible at the central control station and at any PLC point on the TVAC system

All our systems are interlocked with acknowledge actions to prevent those inadvertent push button problems.

Our intuitive & visually representative HMI packages reduce operator training time.

The system overview shows the status of each element in the system at one glance. Each component can then be accessed by clicking on the relevant tab or icon on the touch screen.
The TCU controls screen manages all aspects of TCU control and performance. Set ramp rates, motor speeds and temperatures. Monitor bearing temperature, Nitrogen temperature and pressures, among other critical criteria.
The Cryo Pump control screen allows opening & closing of the valve, monitoring the diode temperature and purging the pump, among other functions.
Complete monitoring of trends, data points, alarms, alarm logs, set points and other critical operating data are available from a series of details trend and data screens.
